Version 1.3.0 of the application for iPhone makes it even simpler to use Internet banking

Tatra bank was among the first to optimise the Internet banking environment for smart phones back in 2009. The application for iPhone advanced everyday banking even further. These days Tatra banka is issuing the new version 1.3.0. This is the third version to be released, and in addition to fixing various errors, it is extended to include additional functionalities that users felt were missing:

- option to add or remove beneficiaries directly when setting up the transaction,
- additional settings, like the option to choose the application language.

As part of this version, we are also introducing a new version of the map of branches and ATMs, which directly supports the current position of your telephone using GPS and so shows you the branches and ATM that are nearest to you. This functionality will also be available to users of the older versions of the application.

Complete list of changes in version 1.3.0:
Extended functionality:

- adding or removing payment beneficiaries
- displaying the details of settings for saving schemes
- setting the application language independently of the telephone language (the defaults preference remains the same as the phone language)
- inclusion of links for searching for branches and ATM, as well as the exchange rate listing also on the home page with the security key

Main improvements:
- ignores the time band of the telephone, which in some cases changed the current date
- duplicate display of certain cards in the list of credit cards
- corrected display of diacritics in the case of newly established accounts
- technical adjustments increased the stability of the application

New changes concerning also versions 1.1.0 and 1.2.0:
- redesign of branch and ATM search browser with the help of your current GPS position, while showing the map on the whole screen
- elimination of the fault where some exchange rates in the exchange rate listing were interpreted as telephone numbers

Difference between the application and the optimised environment for smart phones:

Since April 2009 Tatra banka has provided its clients also with the functionality IB for smart phones - a version of Internet banking available through a web browser directly from any telephone or mobile device. This version is adapted to small screens of mobile devices and provides the full functionality of Internet banking. It is intended for clients with any smart phone, while supporting all native browsers of the mobile devices Nokia (using OS Symbian), BlackBerry, iPhone, telephones running on the platforms Android and Windows Mobile, including its latest version, and also via freely available mobile browsers like Opera Mobile.

Clients access Internet banking for smart phones directly from the browser of their mobile device and so must log in to the application the same as if using a PC - with each login you must enter the PIN, password and then the code according to the authentication tool being used (GRID, SMS, Card and Reader) and also when confirming payment orders (or other functionalities) to use a device that is set for the authorisation of payment orders. For example, using an SMS code when logging in might not be practical because some older models of mobile devices do not support the running of several applications simultaneously and so reading the SMS code means you have to close the browser application and so possibly lose your connection with the Internet banking.

The native application provided for iPhone, unlike the web version of Internet banking, requires the entry of a PID and password with the code from the Card and Reader only one time (independent from the settings for logging in to IB, the application always requires the use of the Card and Reader), when matching the application with the system in the bank. The client then uses the application only with the password that was chosen for the application (this password is separate from the password used when logging in to the web version of Internet banking). Furthermore, the authorisation of payments made in the application is not required. With the help of this native application, the client therefore gains the comfort of truly fast access to online information about accounts and credit cards with just a few clicks and without the need to wait for and enter an SMS code or the need for some other device (GRID card, reader or other token) apart from the iPhone.
