Digitalised signature increases security of client verification
25.02.2011"These innovations will be appreciated possibly only by more active clients or those who like trying out something new. Even so, the digitalised signature is an innovation that should receive the appreciation of every client, as it concerns the most basic banking operations performed in the branch network. We believe that clients will utilise it happily", says Juraj Lipták, Director of Branch Management Division.
To date, for instance, when setting up an account the client had to create a signature specimen on paper, which a branch employee would then scan in the back office. This scan was then stored in banking systems and served for comparing the signature of the client in daily banking activities. The main attribute of the signature was therefore its appearance.
A digitalised signature fundamentally changes the appearance of the signature as such. It perceives the signature as a unique characteristic of each one of us, which changes and develops over time. Its uniqueness lies in several parameters - the speed with which we sign, the pressure on the surface, and much more. It is these very attributes that are scanned by the digitalised signature thanks to a special pen and tablet. After creating a sufficient number of signatures of the client, the technology examines the elements of uniqueness of each single signature, and compares them in detail with each additional signature. What is important here is that the client has each new signature updated in the system at the branch and the signature specimen is modified.
Thanks to the digitalised signature, no additional verification of the client is required, it is possible to use one signature to access all accounts and it speeds up the inputting of signature specimens into the system with immediate effect.
