We launched the 3rd year of grants for IT people
28.10.2011The grant programme is prepared for university students, teachers and research staff who do research in the field of applied and industrial informatics. Our aim is to support the creativity and innovation of students and teachers who have decided to carry out scientific projects while at university. If their project is successful, Nadácia Tatra banky will cover the direct costs of the project for them up to € 5,000.
Submitted projects must be linked to the educational process and at the same time must respect the following programme criteria:
- originality, innovation and inventiveness of the subject of research,
- practical use of the research results,
- cross-sector approach,
- use of the research results to improve the educational process for selected faculties with a technical focus.
Please send projects in by 25 November 2011 to the address of Nadácia Tatra banky. Maximum amount of support for any one project: 5 000 €
The Nadácia has allocated a total of € 32 000 in support of projects.

Projects supported last year were exceptionally successful
The project iTransit, Guide to municipal public transport, was prepared by students of the FIIT of the Slovak University of Technology. The application contains the timetables for Bratislava public transport, with fast display of current departures from the nearest bus and tram stops, displaying stops on a map, clearly displayed timetables and routes, as well as a search tool for connections. As part of the Slovak competition AppsRulezz, it was chosen as the best in the category of non-brand applications, as well as the best application for smart phones. The project Mapz, which solves the problem of orientation for those with impaired sight, was prepared by the students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Technical University in Košice. The project won the nationwide round of the Software Design competition Imagine Cup 2011.
