Tennis - Tatra banka Open
In the position of a general sponsor, Tatra banka succeeded in founding a tradition of the largest tennis tournament in Slovakia, which has become much popular among the tennis players and the wide public. In this year, the 4th men´s tennis international championships of Slovakia were organized, TATRA BANKA OPEN with prize money of EUR 100,000 (SKK 3,012,600.00)1 and hospitality of EUR 25,000 (SKK 753,150.00)1. Tennis is a sports discipline popular among our clients and employees, because it creates a pleasant, informal, and competitive atmosphere good both for rest and for development of business relations. The key principles in tennis and in sport generally include transparency and fair play. They form an integral part of communication with our clients. As Tatra banka supports the best ones, and the performances of our tennis players, next to the ice hockey players, belong to the long-term excellent sports results in Slovakia, has decided to found a tournament which would help to compare the Slovak top tennis players with the best world players directly before the eyes of Slovak spectators.
Basketball - Rieker Komárno Town Basketball Club
The Rieker town basketball club has a long-term sports tradition and by its good results in the premier league has become popular not only in the town, but also in the district. The club achieves excellent results also in foreign countries and thus proves that it is capable to represent its qualities also on international level. Therefore, Tatra banka decided to support it in the form of promotional cooperation by an amount of SKK 100,000 (EUR 3,319.39)1.
Ice Hockey - HK Zvolen
In Slovakia, the ice hockey is the most famous and popular sport, particularly after the many year achievements of the Slovak national ice hockey team. In order to maintain the continuity of raising the world best players in Slovakia, support should be provided to clubs. As from the aspect of sports equipment, the ice hockey is rather costly, several commercial subjects should be engaged, which may partially support individual ice hockey elements, and thus create conditions for raising future ice hockey players loved by the nation. Tatra banka decided to provide a contribution (SKK 250,000/EUR 8,298.481) and continue in the promotional cooperation with the Slovak HK Zvolen top club whose success in the latest periods and good work with children guarantee that the position of the Slovak ice hockey in the world top will be defended.
