What will I be charged for getting the Card&Reader?
The first card reader is supplied for free. Existing clients may request the chip-card reader free of charge in any Tatra banka branch where they will be handed over the reader immediately.
For a replacement reader we charge 6,64 EUR
What payment cards can be used with the Card&Reader device?
Nowadays it is possible to use in the Card&Reader tool all debit and credit cards with chip issued by Tatra banka.
If I have more chip payment cards with this functionality, which shall I use in the Internet Banking?
If you own more than one suitable chip payment card for the Card&Reader device, you may use whichever card you want. The card reader is not bound in any way to one specific payment card.
May I request the Card&Reader also via email or phone?
Clients using the Internet Banking services can request this device only personally at any Tatra banka branch. Meanwhile it is not possible to request the Card&Reader in any other way.
What are the payment limits in Internet Banking when using the Card&Reader?
In case of additional authorization with the Card&Reader, the payment limits were set on 30 000 EUR/accounting day and 300 000 EUR/month.
When doing transfers why is the authorization via the Grid Card not displayed and why can I only choose between no additional authorization and Card&Reader?
With implementing the new authentication device Card&Reader, which shall continuously replace the Grid Card, SecurID and SMS Codes in Internet Banking, we have decided to cancel the possibility to use the Grid Card for those clients who do not have the Grid Card set as the additional authentication level.
Is the authentication code for confirming a transfer order generated also on the basis of the data about the given payment?
After entering the data of the transfer order (amount, account number of the payee) into the reader, the payment card generates a numeric code for confirming the payment. The generated code depends on the payment, but it does not carry any information about the payment. In case any of the above mentioned data is changed, the payment will be refused.
Does the reader have to be installed in any way?
The reader is a portable device, independent from and not connected to a PC, and does not need to be installed.
Why do you cancel the Grid Card when introducing the Card&Reader?
The Grid Card is going to be removed because of having static data and the new Card&Reader device has an incomparably higher security level. Many clients are not aware of the security risks that may arise when not using the Grid Card correctly and entering codes on various false Internet-Banking websites.In such cases the bank cannot prevent its abuse and that is why we decided to exchange the GRID Card for a safer security tool.
