What is the Card&Reader?
The Card&Reader represents a unique tool enabling safer logging-in and payments confirmation in Internet Banking.
The Card&Reader tool consists of a reader of chip cards and a normal payment chip card. The reader uses the special CAP/DPA functionality for chip cards and thus offers greater security when communicating with the bank.
To generate the codes you can use all debit and credit cards with chip issued to your name by Tatra banka.

How to obtain new tool Card & Reader?
Each new client of electronic banking will receive the Card&Reader automatically. The first chip payment card reader is provided to clients for free.
Existing clients using Internet banking may ask for issue of this tool at their branch.
Chip cards issued by Tatra banka are automatically usable in Internet banking environment.
Provided the client does not own a payment card and it is not possible to issue a debit or credit card for him, the client can be allotted an e-card after submitting a special application form at a Tatra banka branch.
E- card is a chip card issued for authentication and authorisation needs in Internet banking but it cannot be used for payments via payment terminals or cash withdrawals e.g. from ATMs. The card is issued for an indefinite period.
When using the e-card it is necessary to follow the same security rules as with other authorization tools.
Security warning when using the Card&Reader tool:
Using your payment card and e-card is protected by entering the PIN code of which you alone have knowledge. Only a correctly entered code enables you to proceed with the given operation. In case of wrongly entering the PIN code for 5 times in a row, the card will be blocked for Internet Banking services and it will be necessary to exchange it.
Your Internet Banking will be blocked after a number of incorrect card usages determined by the bank. Submitting a request for unblocking is possible only personally at a Tatra banka branch.
For which Internet Banking operations can the different reader functions be used?
Authorizing operations via the Code (KÓD, OTP) function
- Logging into the Internet Banking, Tatra Pay, I:deal
- Cancelling all domestic payment orders waiting to be processed /simple, multiple, standing payment orders
- Creating and cancelling i:deposit
- Creating, changing and cancelling collection relations
- Creating and cancelling the agreement with the collection
- I:invest - redemption, switch
- Security settings
Authorizing transactions via the Payment (PLATBA) function
- Domestic payment order simple - create
- Domestic payment order waiting to be processed - change
- Standing payment order - create, make a copy
- Foreign payment order standard
- Foreign payment order up to 50 000 EUR into EU countries
- Creating and authorizing all payment orders in all bookmarks (with i:deposit, term accounts, i:invest, …)
- Confirming payments in TatraPay

Changing the security settings
Client - an authorized user can combine the following tools when logging into the IB and when authorizing transactions:
Every new client will automatically have the new authentication tool Card&Reader set for logging in and confirming payment orders.
If the client uses the Card&Reader tool for logging in and also for confirming payment orders, the client's daily limit will increase up to 30 000 EUR. The client can subsequently change the authorization of payment orders, i.e. realize orders without the additional authorization. In this case the client's daily limit on payment orders will reduce to 3000 EUR or the client will use the I:key for the payment authorization /provided the client is its holder/.
If the client changes the logging into the Internet Banking via the Card&Reader, also the authorization of payment orders will automatically change as follows:

The system will automatically change the setting of new Card & Reader tool also for logging in Internet banking upon setting of this tool for confirmation of payment orders!!
Other authorization and authentication tools cannot be changed to a GRID card.
