In connection with the continually accruing need to upgrade a security of provision of electronic bank services, it is important for Tatra banka to improve the security of its services constantly too and so to come up to more consistent utilization of identification and authentication tools. Therefore, Tatra banka comes up to the change of ways of the authentication and authorization of clients /entitled persons, resp. their acts towards Tatra banka.

The change is centred on the exchange of presently used mostly static IAAP (identification, authentication and authorization tools), as are GRID card and SMS code for new types of IAAP that use dynamic code generation, so for the Card and Reader.

According to a binding procedure of the exchange of existing authentication and authorization tools used in the Internet banking for the Card and Reader, defined in terms of Business terms of Tatra banka, a.s. of the electronic banking system, part first, section II article 7, the following procedures are valid for clients who do not use the security tool Card and Reader by now:

Clients who have not registered into the Internet banking for the last 12 months:

• From July 15, 2008 the security settings at registration into the Internet banking and authorizations of payment orders in the Internet banking will be stepwise changed for Card and Reader. The entitled persons can ask to issue the tool Card and Reader at any branch of bank.

Clients who have asked to issue the tool Card and Reader till July 15, 2008

• After an appointed day, the mentioned settings can be changed automatically by bank single-sided to entitled persons that in connection with the IAAP Card and Reader application have asked for a free issue of a new payment card with CAP/DPA function for its usage in the Internet banking and at the same time, they will not change the security settings in the Internet banking into a new tool Card and Reader till July 15, 2008.

Clients who have asked to issue the tool Card and Reader after July 15, 2008

• The mentioned settings can be changed automatically by bank single-sided to entitled persons that in connection with the IAAP Card and Reader application have asked for a free issue of a new payment card with CAP/DPA function for its usage in the Internet banking and at the same time they will not change the security settings in the Internet banking into a new tool Card and Reader within one month of the issue of such payment card.

Clients who have not asked to issue the tool Card and Reader and do not hold a suitable payment card

• In case that the entitled person is a holder of a payment card with CAP/DPA function, suitable for usage in the Internet banking, the bank will deliver the Reader to IAAP Card and Reader to the entitled person by mail. After delivery of Reader, the entitled person is, without undue delay, due to perform the change of security settings in the Internet banking into IAAP Card and Reader. If the entitled person will not perform the aforementioned change either in a period of 30 days after a delivery of Reader, the bank is entitled to perform given changes automatically and single-sided.

Clients who did not asked to issue the tool Card and Reader and do not hold a suitable payment card

• Clients who hold a payment card issued before 1.9.2007 will be provided with a new tool Card and Reader at the payment card renewal.

All of changes of security settings for log in and confirmation of payment orders in the Internet banking will be done by bank in terms of existing limits for payments adjusted by client. You find more information on the authentication tools and payment limits here.

Clients can make a change of the security level at log in and confirmation of payment orders into Card and Reader in their Internet banking, in left menu "Settings - Security at log in and Security at payment orders.
