CardPay

CardPay is a Tatra banka product, by which the clients of any bank, holding the VISA, VISA Electron, MasterCard or Diners Club cash card, may pay in virtual department stores.


For whom is it intended?
CardPay is intended for two target groups of users. i.e. for the owner of the virtual department store in the Internet and his clients. It is used by clients for ordering goods via the Internet. On the other hand, it may be used by merchants for improving their services provided to the customers.

How does the CardPay work?

The client chooses goods in the virtual shop, fills-in the order form by stating all required information on the relevant purchase and an address for delivery of the goods or service, and as the method of payment, he elects the cash card. He will be immediately routed to the Tatra banka web page, where he will fill-in the required information - his cards´s number, date of expiry, and protection code. The bank shall then realise the payment in the authorized centre. Upon obtaining the outcome of transaction, it will notify it within several seconds to the customer on its web page and to the department store via e-mail or in any other agreed specific form. Then, the client will be re-routed to the virtual department store´s site.

What are the benefits of the CardPay product?

It is expedient, secure, and simple. The transaction is on-line and usually lasts for about 10 seconds. Security is guaranteed by several precautions:

1. The merchant will never obtain the information required for use of your cash card, i.e. the card´s number and date of expiry. These information are known solely to the bank and the customer.
2. The buyer fills-in the information directly on the safe Tatra banka web site.
3. Transmission of any confidential information on the card is protected by the secure encrypting SSL protocol.
4. Payment for the goods or service will be credited to the merchant within 10 business days following the transaction. Notwithstanding that, the merchant may ship the goods immediately after obtaining a report from the bank. Payment via the CardPay service means avoidance of cash-on-delivery, which is appreciated not only by merchants but also by potential customers. They needn´t have any cash on, which is both an important psychologic factor and an advantage.

What are the conditions for operating the CardPay service?

1. The merchant must operate a virtual department store
2. The merchant must have a Tatra banka account
3. The merchant must be a reliable Tatra banka client
4. The merchant´s WWW page must not contain any information which are contrary to the laws of the Slovak Republic
5. The merchant agrees to use, for payments of the CardPay type, exclusively the Tatra banka terminal for the period of minimum 12 months

Procedure of Implementation of CardPay

1. The merchant will apply for the CardPay service via the Tatra banka web site
2. The application is reviewed and if all requirements are met, it is approved
3. A contract is signed between Tatra banka and the owner of the virtual department store
4. Tatra banka will contact the merchant and will provide him with all technical information required for implementation of the CardPay service
5. Then follows the testing cycle
6. Starting the operation of CardPay in the department store´s site
