Verification of Payee service

Before authorizing the payment, you can easily verify whether the name of the payee corresponds to the entered account number (IBAN). The verification takes place instantly in the payee's bank system, so the payment processing will not be delayed.

The new service is available free of charge for all clients – individuals, entrepreneurs, and legal entities – when making standard SEPA and SEPA instant payments.

How does the service work?

  1. Entering payment details: When entering the payment, in addition to the IBAN, you will also provide the name of the payee.

  2. Verification at the payee's bank: The system compares the entered details with the information stored in the payee's bank database.

  3. Result: Before confirming the payment, you will receive information about the verification result in the Tatra banka mobile applicationInternet bankingTB and Business bankingTB: match, partial match, no match, unsupported service, verification not possible, or service unavailable.

Match Verification of the beneficiary name and IBAN was successful. You can proceed with the payment. The entered information matches the details in the payee's bank.
Partial match You entered <pôvodný názov>. Beneficiary name has been adjusted based on beneficiary bank records. You can proceed with the payment. We have automatically corrected the payee's name for you.
No match Name does not match beneficiary bank records. The payment might be credited to an incorrect beneficiary. We recommend checking the entered details, or contacting the payee to clarify the payment information. Despite the mismatch, you can proceed with the payment.
Unsupported service Beneficiary bank does not support name verification. The payment might be credited to an incorrect beneficiary. The payee's bank does not support verification of the payee's name. We recommend checking the entered details. If you still wish to proceed with the payment, you can continue without verification.
Verification not possible The name could not be verified for the provided IBAN. The payment might be credited to an incorrect beneficiary. We recommend checking the entered details, or contacting the payee to clarify the payment information. If you still wish to proceed with the payment, you can continue without verification.
Service unavailable Beneficiary name verification is temporarily unavailable. We recommend repeating the verification. If you still wish to proceed with the payment, you can continue without verification, but the funds may be credited to the wrong payee.
