Payment procedure
Entering required data from the payment card for the payment at the website of the merchant has not changed.
After entering:
- card number,
- card validity and
- a three-digit security code
payment gateway will then ask you to verify the payment:
- Do not close this payment gateway window and confirm the payment using the Tatra banka mobile application or Internet bankingTB.
- After successful verification, the payment will be processed on the merchant's side.
At the same time, you'll see a purchase confirmation screen on the merchant's page with further instructions.
For successful payment and confirmation of payments, you must have the latest version of the Tatra banka mobile application and push notifications enabled.

Payment procedure for a merchant that only supports an older version of the 3D Secure protocol:
- enter the 3D Secure code from the sent SMS message into the confirmation screen
- after filling in the confirmation code, just click on "Confirm"
Payment procedure for a merchant supporting a newer version of the 3D Secure protocol:
- click on the PUSH notification we have generated for you, open the Tatra banka application or log in to Internet bankingTB in a new browser window
- any of the above options will automatically show you a card payment awaiting your authorization
- after reviewing your payment information: Merchant Name, Transaction Amount, Debit or Credit Item, you can choose to authorize or decline the transaction
- after logging out of the mobile application or internet banking, you will find out the result of the payment processing on the merchant's website

At the merchants not supporting 3D Secure you may pay in the same way as until now, just enter the details of your payment card or through Tatra banka app and one-time card number.
Frequently asked questions
When paying online at a merchant that supports this service, you will be asked to authorize the payment.
Depending on which version of the 3D Secure protocol the merchant supports, you will be sent a free SMS message with a 3D Secure code or a request for payment authorization in the Tatra banka mobile application or Internet bankingTB.
Transaction authorization is unique with each payment and has limited validity.
After your authorization, Tatra banka will confirm to the merchant that you are authorized to make the payment and you can pay for the purchase. It is not possible for an unauthorized person to pay for the goods with your payment card.
A payment authorization request will only be made if the merchant supports the 3D Secure protocol. After entering the card details (card number, card validity and three-digit security code), you will be asked to authorize the transaction you will perform, depending on which version of the 3D Secure protocol the merchant supports. If the merchant does not support the 3D Secure protocol, the payment will be made without the need for authorization.
Due to the regulation of the European Banking Authority (EBA), when authorizing a transaction performed in the European Economic Area, the client must be authenticated with one or more elements / factors, from at least two categories:

At first, find out if the merchant's website contains acceptance logos:
If not, the purchase is not necessary to be verified by 3D Scure code. The payment will be made by entering card details (card number, card validity and a three-digit security code).
Then, on the confirmation screen check the phone number to which the text message has been sent.
If the phone number is correct, please take into account that the text message takes couple of seconds to deliver. If you have been waiting for the text message for more than 5 minutes, in the confirmation window click on the option “Cancel” and in the e-shop request to pay once again.
If you don't receive the text message with the code even after that, contact DIALOG Live or pay with one-time card number generated by the Tatra banka application.

- Internet bankingTB, in Settings and My Profile
- or DIALOG Live contact service number:

The possibility of authorizing an online purchase with a payment card is conditional on:
- for payments at merchants with an older version of 3D Secure by providing a phone number to the bank
- for payments at merchants with a newer version of 3D Secure by signing an agreement on the allocation of Identification, Authentication and Authorization Means
After entering the wrong one, the system will ask you to enter the correct 3D Secure code.
If you enter the 3D Secure code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the service will be temporarily blocked.

I received an SMS with a 3D Secure code or PUSH notification, but I did not make any online purchase

With Tatra banka, you can pay even more securely on the internet, thanks to the one-time card number you can easily generate in your app. A one-time card number is only applicable to one payment, i.e. it can not be used repeatedly.
How can I generate one-time card number?
- Check, if your mobile phone has active internet access.
- From the list of your cards choose the one you want to pay with.
- Click on “Internet payment”.
- After PIN verification the application displays one-time card details that will be used to pay at the merchant.
Tip for you: If you shop directly from the phone, card details can be easily copied. If you shop from another device, copy the card details into a merchant's form. Card details are also available in the form of notification in the top bar of your phone.
