Find answers about accounts, fees, and investing.
The InvestQ application is an investment platform that allows Tatra banka clients to invest in more than 1,000+ securities traded on the global stock exchanges NYSE, NASDAQ, XETRA and Vienna stock exchange. Already today, you will find in the application 250+ ETFs from leading global asset managers, 750+ stocks of companies from all over the world and mutual funds from Raiffeisen Capital Management. Thanks to the InvestQ application, investing is easy and accessible whether you are on the go or in the comfort of your home. Invest safely with a world-renowned Slovak bank.
The operator of the InvestQ application is Tatra banka, which is an entity regulated by the National Bank of Slovakia in the provision of investment services.
It cooperates with the parent company Raiffeisen Bank International AG on the operation of the application, especially in the provision of services related to trading in foreign securities and their safekeeping.
The InvestQ application is intended for natural persons over 18 years of age who have at least one current account with Tatra banka, a registered e-mail and an activated Tatra banka mobile application. The application is available in Slovak and English language versions.
To activate the InvestQ application, it is necessary to become a Tatra banka client and have at least one current account opened for a natural person.
The InvestQ application is not accessible to US citizens.
To activate the InvestQ application, you need to:
- have an active current account of a natural person
- have the Tatra banka mobile application activated
- check the timeliness of your personal data
- fill out a short investment questionnaire
- accept the terms and conditions, which include your consent to open free InvestQ accounts in EUR and USD for the settlement of your transactions
Download the InvestQ application to your mobile. Android and iOS versions are available. Subsequently, the application will guide you through the simple installation process.
If you have any questions or need help during the process, do not hesitate to contact us. You can do so by calling the DIALOG Live service at *1100 or in person at any Tatra banka branch.
An online manual with detailed instructions can also be a useful help in activating the application.
If your personal data recorded in the bank is not up to date, you can request a change in person at any Tatra banka branch. Selected data can also be changed by telephone via the DIALOG Live service at *1100.
When activated, you will be presented with one InvestQ investment account and two InvestQ accounts:
- The InvestQ investment account is used for the custody of securities you purchase through the InvestQ application.
- InvestQ accounts in EUR and USD are used exclusively for the settlement of transactions related to securities registered in the InvestQ investment account and for the settlement of fees in accordance with the current Service Charges.
- In the case of the InvestQ Investment Account, fees are charged for the execution of transactions and registration of securities in accordance with the currently valid Service Charges, unless expressly stipulated otherwise, in particular as part of a campaign, discount or other special fee adjustment.
- The maintenance of InvestQ accounts and the execution of payment orders on these accounts are free of charge.
Each client can have only one InvestQ investment account.
InvestQ accounts are used solely for the purpose of settling trades related to securities acquired through the InvestQ application. The goal is to separate the world of investing from retail banking (paying invoices, loan repayments, etc.).
The main advantage of these accounts is the so-called forward posting of transactions. You can use the funds from the sale of the security for another transaction on the same day. There is no need to wait for the financial settlement.
The transfer of funds to InvestQ accounts is only possible from your current accounts maintained with Tatra banka. You can also transfer funds from InvestQ accounts only to your current accounts with Tatra banka.
It is possible to make a conversion payment between InvestQaccounts in EUR and USD according to the current list of exchange rates of Tatra banka.
Activating and onboarding after accepting the contractual documentation usually takes only a few minutes.
If you perform onboarding during night hours (when banking systems may be closed), the process can be extended to several hours. In this case, you will return to the application later when banking services resume and onboarding automatically completes.
After accepting the contractual documentation and completing the activation, you will see the main screen in the application and a prompt to fund InvestQ accounts.
To transfer funds, the system will redirect you to the Tatra banka mobile application. Once you have successfully funded your account, you can start investing.
To activate the InvestQ application, it is necessary to have a current account with Tatra banka. For more information, see What are the basic prerequisites for successful activation of the InvestQ application.
The investment questionnaire is an important tool for assessing your knowledge and experience when making independent investment decisions. It helps to evaluate whether you understand the risks associated with individual financial instruments and services.
If we assess that your knowledge and experience are insufficient, we will alert you to the need to reconsider the planned investment decision.
The investment questionnaire is part of the activation process for the InvestQ application. It is not possible to activate the application without completing it. We recommend that you select the product groups you plan to use.
If you don't fill in a group, the application won't allow you to trade with it. However, you can also update the questionnaire at any time after activating the application.
The validity of the questionnaire is 5 years. If your knowledge and experience with investing changes during this period, we recommend that you fill out the questionnaire again. It can simplify and speed up your trading.
The products will be available to you even if you do not meet the required level of knowledge. However, we will warn you of their inadequacy.
If you want to expand your knowledge quickly and easily, visit our educational pages.
The investment questionnaire is intended to reflect your actual knowledge and experience. If your level has improved, you can update it.
You can log in to the InvestQ application using a PIN or biometrics, provided you enabled this option during activation and your device supports it.
After five wrong attempts, the InvestQ application is disabled. When reinstalling and activating the application (with confirmation in the Tatra banka mobile application), you will set up a new PIN code or biometrics login.
Reinstalling InvestQ will not affect your InvestQ accounts or InvestQ investment account. Once activated, you will see an overview of your existing investments as well as your current InvestQ account balances.
The reactivation process is safe and only takes a few minutes. It is important to have the Tatra banka mobile application installed on the same device as InvestQ.
On the log-in screen, select Forgot PIN? and the application will be disabled. You can then reactivate it.
In the Profile section (in the upper right corner of the Home screen), you will find the Settings section. In it, you can change your PIN code and turn biometric authentication on or off.
You can set up biometrics (Face ID/Touch ID/fingerprint) during application installation or later under Settings in the Profile section.
The availability of biometrics depends on the manufacturer, model and version of the operating system of the mobile device on which you have the InvestQ application installed and activated.
You can have the application activated on four mobile devices. Activation must be confirmed via the Tatra banka mobile application, which must be installed on the same device as InvestQ.
Check your internet connection and verify that you have the latest version of the InvestQ application and the operating system of your mobile device.
If the problem persists, it may be a temporary outage. Try logging in to the application later or contact the DIALOG Live service at *1100 .
Automatic logout occurs after four minutes of inactivity. You can also log out manually in the Profile section (in the top right corner of the screen) where you will find the option to Log out.
The application is operated by Tatra banka and uses the same security standards as the Tatra banka mobile application.
If you suspect misuse of your personal data or means of payment, please contact the DIALOG Live service at *1100 or visit any Tatra banka branch.
You can choose a PIN, Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint to secure access.
To minimise the risk of misuse, we protect your investments with security measures, including data encryption and the use of security protocols. For this reason, it is not possible to transfer funds outside of your current accounts in Tatra banka.
In the InvestQ application, go to the Accounts section and select Add funds in the account details. The system will automatically redirect you to the Tatra banka mobile application, where you enter a payment order. The selected parameters, such as the recipient's data, will already be pre-filled.
You can also find the option to enter a payment order in the Tatra banka mobile application under the Securities section, from where you can access the InvestQ account details.
In the InvestQ application, go to the Accounts section and select Withdraw in the account detail.
Yes, the Exchange is available in the detail of InvestQ accounts. The conversion is subject to the current list of exchange rates of Tatra banka.
A payment order is usually processed immediately. The balance in the InvestQ account will be updated after returning from the Tatra banka mobile application.
A standing payment order can be set up from your current account in EUR to your InvestQ account in EUR. Standing orders from/to foreign currency accounts are currently not technically available.
In the Accounts section, you will find two balances for each InvestQ account:
- A balance for investing is the amount you currently have available for trading.
- A balance for payments is the amount available for transfer.
The difference in the balance amount arises after the sale of the security and lasts until the funds are credited to the InvestQ account. While you can use the funds from the sale for same-day trading, the transfer is only possible after they have been credited to the account. Crediting can take between 1 to 3 business days, depending on the type of security.
- The funds are available for trading before they are credited to the InvestQ account.
- They are available for withdrawal only after they have been credited. Crediting can take between 1 to 3 business days, depending on the type of security.
The InvestQ application does not limit the amount for transfers.
You can transfer funds to InvestQ accounts only from your current account for a natural person, which is maintained with Tatra banka.
If you have a problem with the execution of a payment order, contact the DIALOG Live service at *1100 or visit any Tatra banka branch.
A transfer is only possible between accounts maintained in your name with Tatra banka. It is not possible to transfer funds from or to accounts of other persons, legal entities or accounts in other banks.
Transfers are free of charge. For transfers in foreign currency, the exchange rate is applied according to the valid list of exchange rates of Tatra banka.
In the security detail, you will find the Buy and Sell buttons. Select one of the options and then enter the desired number of units or shares. Finally, review the order parameters and confirm the order.
Orders can only be placed during trading hours. When making a purchase, it is necessary to have enough funds in the account.
As a rule, you can trade through InvestQ during official trading days and hours:
- Xetra 9:00 a.m.– 5:35 p.m. (CET)
- Vienna 9:00 a.m. – 5:34 p.m. (CET)
- NYSE and Nasdaq 3:30 p.m.– 10:00 p.m. (CET)
- OTC 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (CET) for Raiffeisen Capital Management mutual funds
For selected exchanges, it is possible to place orders even before they are opened:
- Xetra and Vienna from 8:30 a.m. (CET)
- NYSE and Nasdaq from 11:00 a.m. (CET)
You can place a market order, a limit order, and a stop-loss order in the application. A market order is set as the default.
After selecting Buy or Sell, you will find the More button in the upper right corner. This allows you to change the order type to Limit or Stop-loss (available for a sell order). You then specify a limit or stop price.
If the limit price is significantly different from the current market price, for example by more than 20%, the broker may reject the order.
To specify the price at which an investment should be automatically sold, place a limit order.
It is not possible to place two limit orders at different price levels if their total volume exceeds the volume you own.
After selecting the Sell option, you will find the More button in the upper right corner. This allows you to change the order type to Stop-loss. Then you determine the stop price.
If the stop price is significantly different from the current market price, for example by more than 20%, the order may be rejected.
InvestQ does not allow the opening of short positions (the so-called short-selling).
The estimated exchange rate will be displayed before the order is confirmed, in the Estimated charges section of the order summary, if the currency of the security differs from the currency of the account you plan to use to settle the purchase or sale.
The order will be displayed among the pending ones if it has not yet been executed or has only been partially executed. In this state, you can still request its cancellation, except for the executed part of the order.
The most common reasons why it is not possible to place a buy order:
- Your account balance is insufficient. The reserved amount includes expected fees, currency conversion costs (if you have chosen a different currency for the settlement account), and a 5% buffer for market orders. This buffer helps prevent the trading volume from exceeding the available funds in your InvestQ account.
- You do not have a completed investment questionnaire for the selected product category.
- In exceptional cases, the security you require may be unavailable for trading due to an ongoing corporate action.
The most common reason why it is not possible to place a sell order:
- The amount you enter for sale exceeds the volume of the security you own.
Please note that you can only place an order during trading hours. If the problem persists, contact DIALOG Live at *1100.
Before placing a buy order, make sure that you have completed the investment questionnaire for the product group. You can find the questionnaire in your Profile, where you can update it.
A limit order may not be executed for the following reasons:
- The market price has not reached the specified limit price.
- There was not enough liquidity in the market for the entire volume of the order.
- If there were multiple limit orders at the same price level, the orders were processed in the order in which they were placed. If your order came later and the price has changed sharply in the meantime, it may not have been executed.
- The price changed sharply outside of trading hours.
An unexecuted order can be found in the Home section, under Orders. Once you have opened a specific order, click Cancel. You can cancel the order during the trading hours specified in the Product detail.
In the Home section, under My holdings, you select the security you want to sell. The Sell option will appear in the detail. You select the desired number of units or the volume you want to sell and add other parameters of the order.
The sale of securities is only possible during the trading hours displayed in InvestQ.
Fractional trading allows you to buy part of a security. InvestQ offers this option for selected ETFs traded on the German XETRA stock exchange. You can view the instruments supporting fractional trading using the Advanced filter.
Fractional trading can be interesting for clients who want to invest, for example, EUR 100 even if one piece of ETF costs EUR 500. On the other hand, there are limited trading options to be taken account of.
Fractional trading is only executed a few times a day in shortened trading hours, and limit orders cannot be used.
InvestQ allows for a one-time purchase of selected ETFs in units or in cash. For example, you can buy 5 units. Alternatively, you can invest EUR 50, which may correspond to, for example, 0.001 units of this security.
We will gradually expand the offer of ETFs and other securities supporting fractional trading.
Fractional trading is available for selected ETFs. In the Invest section, select the ETF product category, and an Advanced filter will appear in the top‑right corner. This filter allows you to narrow down the offer according to your criteria. In the Advanced filter, you can enable the option Fractional Trading – Yes.
You can buy fractions of a security with a one-time order or through regular investing.
Sell orders in fractions are executed only a few times a day, usually at hourly intervals, in shortened trading hours and at market price, without the possibility of using a limit order.
You can find the possibility of regular investing in the Home and Invest sections.
You can also search for ETFs and mutual funds available for regular investment via the Advanced filter by selecting the option Investment plan – Yes.
After selecting the product, click on Buy, select Investment plan and set the frequency and amount of investment according to your preferences.
In the Home section, you will find the Investment plan. Select the security you want to make a change to and you will see options: Edit, Pause and Cancel investment plan.
In accordance with the valid Podmienky evidencie cenných papierov a obchodovania s cennými papiermi v Tatra banke, a.s. (hereinafter referred to as the "Registration Terms and Conditions"), Tatra banka is entitled to suspend or cancel a regular investment through InvestQ under certain circumstances.
This can happen, for example, in the event of the dissolution of a security (ISIN) or changes related to corporate actions. For more information, please refer to the Registration Terms and Conditions.
Investment plans can only be set up from an InvestQ account held in EUR. Similarly, standing orders from a current account in favour of an InvestQ account are only possible in EUR.
The execution of purchase and sale orders is subject to a fee in accordance with the currently valid Service Charges, unless expressly stipulated otherwise, in particular as part of a campaign, promotion or other special fee adjustment.
InvestQ offers trading on the NYSE, NASDAQ, XETRA and Vienna stock exchanges. Our priority is to make order execution as accessible as possible, so we avoid exchanges with a less favourable price, wide spread or low liquidity.
Tatra banka does not accept remuneration, the so-called payments for order flow for placing orders on an exchange where the best price may not be reached.
Via InvestQ you can trade:
- US stocks on the NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchanges in USD, and
- European stocks on the XETRA or Vienna stock exchange in EUR.
Also available:
- ETFs traded on XETRA or US exchanges, and
- mutual funds of Raiffeisen Capital Management.
Due to the high fees, we do not currently support trading on the London Stock Exchange and do not offer speculative trading in illiquid US stocks (the so-called penny stocks).
In the Invest section, you can use the search bar or select a specific product category, such as ETFs or stocks.
The application offers various filters and options to sort securities by yield, price, and more. In the top right corner, you will find the Advanced filter, which allows you to narrow your search using criteria such as currency, industry, or region. The available filters vary depending on the type of security.
The unavailability of a security is mostly caused by the ongoing processing of a corporate action. This may include, for example, the acquisition of one company by another (a merger), a change in the company’s name, or the delisting of the company from the stock exchange.
You can find all open positions in the Home section under My holdings. The current position is recalculated by the current market price.
As a rule, the InvestQ application works with prices that are around 15 minutes old. The Portfolio value chart is based on the closing prices of the previous trading day.
InvestQ displays unrealised yield and realised yield at the level of portfolio, individual positions, and transactions, including dividends and coupons paid. We use the First In, First Out (FIFO) method in the calculation and include an aliquot amount of fees (if applied to the trade) in the yield value.
- Unrealised gain/loss expresses the difference between the current market price and the purchase price after taking into account fees and currency movements.
- Realised gain/loss represents the difference between the sale price and the purchase price after taking into account fees and exchange rate differences.
The current value of your portfolio is shown in EUR and represents the sum of the securities you hold multiplied by their last known price and converted by the ECB's current exchange rate into EUR.
Balances in your InvestQ accounts in EUR and USD are not part of the portfolio value and can be found in a separate section of the application. The current portfolio value chart shows data at the end of the previous trading day.
The total invested value represents the amount for which you have purchased your current investments, including fees. Purchases in a currency other than the currency of the security are converted at the ECB's rate or the rate used to settle the transaction (for example, buying US stocks from a EUR account).
The total realised return is shown in EUR and represents the sum of all realised sales revenues in the selected period, after taking into account fees. The calculation uses the FIFO method. The realised gain/loss also includes dividends and bond coupon payments, converted into EUR.
- Securities prices and position values are updated every 15 minutes.
- The portfolio value chart is based on the closing prices of the previous trading day.
- The last known price is used to calculate the estimated value of the order and the hold of funds.
InvestQ displays the mid price, which represents the value between the buy and sell prices.
You can find your transaction history in the Home section under Transactions. You can then choose the period you are interested in.
The most common reasons are:
- received but not yet executed buy order
- realised sales
- corporate actions
In the Home section, you can check if you have such an order or transaction placed.
Yes, you can create a list of your favourite securities in the Invest section. You can add or remove a security through its detail.
The InvestQ investment account is charged in accordance with the currently valid Service Charges. Maintaining InvestQ accounts in EUR and USD is free of charge.
An overview of service fees can be found in the currently valid Service Charges.
Yes, the estimated fee is displayed directly during the order placement.
In the Home section, under Transactions, select a specific transaction. Its details will display the amount of fees and other information.
Due to different exchange rate sources:
- the transaction uses the bank's exchange rate, which takes into account current market conditions and may also include the bank's margin.
- As a rule, the European Central Bank's reference rate is applied to the fee, which does not include the commercial margin.
This difference is common and results from the different nature of the transaction and the fee.
Payment orders are free of charge. When converting between an account in EUR and an account in USD, the current list of exchange rates of Tatra banka will be used.
Income from Slovak securities, such as interest and other income, income from the redemption (return, redemption) of unit certificates, income from government bonds, income at maturity or income from the sale of securities, is taxed in accordance with the legislation of the Slovak Republic.
In the case of foreign securities, taxation is governed by the currently valid tax manual, which determines the conditions for taxation of this income.
Corporate actions are changes that affect the shareholders or holders of a particular security. This includes, for example, dividend payments, mergers of companies or share splits. During an ongoing corporate action, trading in the security may be restricted.
An aliquot interest is the proportional part of the interest on bonds. It is calculated from the coupon value of the bond and corresponds to the period from the last coupon payment to the calculation date. This interest will be paid by the new bond holder to the original holder when the bond is purchased.
A dividend is a monetary share of a company's profits paid to shareholders.
The right to a dividend arises if you own a share at least one day before the record date (the so-called Ex-Dividend Date). If you buy a share on the record day or later, you are not entitled to a dividend. You will receive the dividend payment after the dividend payment date (the so-called Payment Date).
You can find dividends paid in the Home section under Transactions, where all transaction types, including dividends, are listed.
A market order is an exchange order in which an investor instructs a broker — in this case, Tatra banka — to buy or sell a security at the current market price. This type of order is typically executed very quickly because it is filled immediately at the best available price. Investors usually choose a market order when execution speed is more important than securing a specific price.
A limit order is an exchange order in which the investor sets a maximum price they are willing to pay when buying a security, or a minimum price they are willing to accept when selling one. The order is executed only if the market price of the financial instrument reaches the specified limit price or better. This type of order gives the investor greater control over the execution price, ensuring that the trade is carried out only at a price the investor considers acceptable.
A stop-loss order helps investors limit losses when the price of an investment drops sharply. A security is automatically sold when its price falls to a predetermined level, the so-called stop price.
The validity of an order expresses the period of time during which an order can be executed.
The FIFO (First In, First Out) method means that when selling, those securities that were bought first are sold first. This method affects the calculation of the return of both the portfolio and individual securities. From a tax point of view, this is the safest way to apply the so-called annual tax test.
Fractional trading is a form of investing in which the investor does not purchase an entire security but only a fraction of it. This makes it possible to invest smaller amounts in stocks or ETFs whose full share or unit price would otherwise be too high.
In the event of a technical problem, make sure that you have an updated operating system of your mobile device and the latest version of the InvestQ application and the Tatra banka application. Also, check the stability of your Internet connection. If the problem persists, contact DIALOG Live at *1100.
If you have not found the answer to your question, please contact DIALOG Live on *1100.
After announcing the death of a client, the bank will block all accounts. Subsequently, they become the subject of inheritance proceedings. After its completion, the bank will settle the accounts according to the final decision on inheritance.
If you are interested in terminating the contractual relationship and closing all InvestQ accounts, visit any Tatra banka branch. A bank employee will guide you through the entire process of terminating the contractual relationship.
